Hello, my name is David Maxwell and I am a licensed general contractor (MaxNashville LLC – TN #74877) who designs and builds treehouses and other small structures (playhouses, bunkies, studios, and more!) in Middle Tennessee and beyond. I strive to create beautiful spaces that will provide a lifetime of wonderful memories. It may sound cheesy, but I tell people that I build every space as if it was going in my own backyard.

I have been building things for as long as I can remember – from tree houses and forts as a child to now building treehouses and forts as an adult. In between I built decks and remodeled houses with my dad while in school, managed construction projects in Belize and Mexico while in college, and built several houses over the past few years, including our own. I also worked in the marketing and hospitality industries in India and Morocco.

I am passionate about inspirational design, quality materials, and first class craftsmanship, as well as memorable experiences and stories. You can read more details about those here. I love working with others to create their dream space.

On a personal note I was born and raised in Middle Tennessee, and live in Columbia with my wife, young son, and even younger puppy. I enjoy spending time outdoors – hiking, biking, canoeing, and photographing. I also enjoy reading and crossword puzzles.
