Creekside Treehouse
This was crafted for two special young girls on their grandmother’s property. They had been playing in the creek since they could walk, and their parents wanted a magical space where the family could spend the night and gather friends to make memories. Special touches included lots of hammock hooks, two pulleys to raise and lower all sorts of items, and built in knick-knack shelves.
The structure itself is 8 feet by 12 feet, with an additional 8 by 8 covered front porch. The side deck is 8 feet by 20 feet. The inside features lower bunks, an upper sleeping loft, and an even higher loft for stuffed animals. Dutch doors welcome visitors and multiple windows let in ample light. A steeply pitched roof allows for plenty of headroom.
Everything about this project was designed in close collaboration with the clients in order to best meet their needs. This space had been dreamed of for years and was constructed in about three weeks.
Treehouse in the Woods
Sustainability was very important to this client, so many salvaged materials were used on this project. Two mature poplar trees anchor one side of this space, a 6 foot by 12 foot enclosed structure with 5 by 12 front and rear porches. Three large windows dominate one end of the building and a set of bunks anchor the other end.
Sheds
A couple of 10 foot by 14 foot storage sheds as well as two smaller sheds we built for fun out of scrap wood.
